THE FACEPLANTS HISTORY LESSON: In 2005 Daniel Bottyan and Garrett Ward
wanted to start a band with a ska/punk feel like none other. Sitting at the wheel, eyes glare ahead
in a straight line, life goes whizzing by in a blur, the faces of
millions who make the world turn and they want to see it. Originating
from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Dan Botch wanted to start a movement like none
other... not just a band... The Faceplants.
At first, under the name Thrash, with time and hard work, the band was well on their way. With Garrett “G" Ward by his side, adding guitar licks unheard of at the time, they started a beginning, not willing to end anytime soon. Eventually it got to a point, a point of greatness with a permanent line up consisting of Dan Botch, "G" Ward, J.A, Stones and The Smith. Together they built their nation, bigger than anything anyone has ever seen before.
The talents of every individual member combined take it farther than any line ever drawn in the ska community. Fusing many genres into their recipe of beat, such as Ska, Reggae, Rap, Rock, Country, Disco, Funk, Jazz, and Surf, they have created a unique sound that will catch the ear of any listener, throwing you up out of your seat into a dancing frenzy. From beach parties all the way to the hottest night clubs, The "Plants" can do it all.
With years of experience under their belt, they have had the privilege to jam with some of the best such as, The Trews, Chilliwack, The Latency, Ninjaspy, and many others. Reppin' Coquitlam, The Faceplants are building their connections, making their way to the top and gaining a faithful fan base along the way.
